Being Eco – 3 trends you need to know
Being Eco – 3 trends you need to know
Eco fabric
Eco fashion is gaining more and more supporters. Customers are beginning to pay attention to the fabrics used for clothes production. They choose natural ones and reject synthetic materials or artificial dyes. What are the characteristics of ecological clothes? They are made from organic, environmentally friendly materials while maintaining the principles of Fair Trade. It is worth buying clothes made of organic cotton (production does not use chemical pesticides), flax, hemp, organic wool, bamboo or lyocell. Some clothes have labels with the inscription Oeko-Tex Standard. This certificate confirms the safety of the fabric for man and the environment.
Upcycling
Upcycling means the use of what already exists to produce new things. Instead of throwing clothes away, we can simply remake them. Upcycling gives us a range of possibilities. A dress converted into a blouse, a skirt to a top, a sweatshirt to an outfit – imagination is the only limit. We can sew clothes ourselves or as for help from a seamstress. Do you prefer faster solutions? You can useexisting clothes. More and more fashion brands (including Polish) turn towards upcycling, creating true works of art.
Slow fashion
Slow fashion? You could say that because motion tends to control the mindless consumption momentum. Slow fashion means conscious decisions, paying attention to how many clothes we buy, how often, and is their quality. This trend captures responsibility. One might ask: “What does it matter whether I buy one pair of trousers, or three?” It matters! One choice seems like a drop in the ocean, but remember that the fate of our environment depends on the fate of all people. Guided by the principles of slow fashion we should ask ourselves:
- Do I really need this? Maybe there is something similar in my wardrobe?
- Should I buy a more expensive, but a better quality product that will serve its purpose for a long time? Or maybe a cheaper product that will get thrown away quickly to buy another?
- Or when it comes to a one-time event, can I borrow it from someone?
- Will this item really make me happy?
