10 ways to ecological shopping
Daily consumption is one of the main sources of environmental pollution. It causes mass production of plastic, and the top of the garbage grows at an alarming rate. What to do to live more ecologically every day? It's worth taking a look at your everyday habits and knowingly make small changes that will eventually become second nature.
If you want to shop more eco-friendly, follow these tips:
- Before going to the store, make an accurate shopping list and try to stick to it.
- Make a habit of going to a store with a reusable bag, small packages or jars and your own egg press.
- Choose products by weight, without packaging and foamed polystyrene trays.
- If possible, buy food from local producers.
- Give up bottled water and small juices with straws; invest in a water filter to drink tap water.
- Cook one-pot dishes make your own preserves.
- Give up paper towels - you can buy reusable cloths or use old clothes.
- As often as you can do second-hand shopping: books, furniture, home accessories, home appliances, clothing, shoes and jewelry are items that you can give a second life.
- Limit online shopping - each order involves a stack of packaging required for shipment.
- Try to ignore sales - paradoxically, hunting for good deals gives the illusion of savings and encourages more frequent purchases.
