Today, you can buy an ecological bag almost at every store – paper, cotton, linen... But what about e.g. cutlery? When trying to implement ecological solutions, do you try to be eco during trips with your friends? Disposable cutlery is certainly very convenient – you don’t have to wash it and is very cheap. Unfortunately, each plastic fork or knife has an impact on the planet.
Cutlery for special tasks
There are more and more places where meals are served on biodegradable plates with biodegradable cutlery, but it's still a drop in the ocean. The lest ecological in this respect are all kinds of fast food, serving food on plastic. The dish disappears in less than 30 minutes, but plastics degrade several hundreds of years. Fortunately, we have more and more alternative options.
You can carry a set of your own cutlery in a purse or backpack, preferably in a linen bag or food container, so you can quickly find them without harming yourself. This solution does not require a financial effort, and will help the environment.
If you thing that this solution takes too much space, you can buy a folding fork-spoon. This wonder can be found in online stores. Most often, they are made of artificial materials, but their life cycle is much longer than disposable cutlery. This invention takes up very little space and is very light (approx. 20 grams).
Outdoors and ecology
In your own home, during family events or a picnic for the kids, it’s best to use the cutlery available in the house. However, it may happen that there are too many guests for that.
