Which ecological certificates should you known and recognize?
Which ecological certificates should you known and recognize?
More and more often we read content labels when buying different products. A good habit that you can also put into practice is to pay special attention to special markings. Mass production is harmful to the environment, and in a broader perspective also to people. That is why it is worth getting acquainted with several certificates that support smaller and more environmentally friendly production.
Euro Leaf – green leaf composed of twelve stars. The sign refers to food and according to European Union standards it means that at least 95% of production methods used are ecological. This applies to land, which has to meet the relevant standards, to fertilizers (no artificial fertilizers), or to animals (no antibiotics or steroids).
Markings on eggs – if you are unable to buy eggs from a local supplier who has proven products, pay attention to the print on their packaging or a stamp on the shells. The most important information should be the first digit, which means the type of hen breeding. Zero stands for organic production, 1 free range, 2 deep litter indoor housing, and 3 cage breeding. So the lower the number at the beginning, the better.
Cruelty free – a mark for cosmetics, a bunny logo or a bunny with the word cruelty free. When buying products with this logo, we are sure that no animal has suffered during their production.
Energy star – white lettering on a blue background. The certificate is awarded to energy-efficient household appliances and electronics
